WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Meet your private licensed* Local guide at your hotel in the city centre and start the best culinary tour of Ljubljana. During three to four-hour city walk, you will see Ljubljana’ s best features while leisurely walking from one restaurant/eatery to another. Our tour is a perfect combination of a food tour and a city tour, flavoured with an enjoyable conversation about the local way of life, all wrapped in a package together with delicious food, great wine and good company. Let’s raise glasses To Your health! ‘Na zdravje!’ or Cheers!

We will visit 6 different places; one where we will taste a selection of local brandies and/or spirits, in other 5 restaurants/eateries we will taste 5 different dishes and 4 different wines from different parts of Slovenia and complete our culinary journey with the best dessert and coffee (very important part of our culture) or tea. After 3 years of doing food and wine tours in Ljubljana, we made a perfect selection that our travellers enjoyed the most; a selection of Slovenian typical and delicious dishes that all carry a historical background and a selection of great wines that will cover all our wine regions. Our choice of food and drinks carries a story! This tour can easily replace a lunch or a dinner and gives plenty of ideas where to enjoy your next meal.

This tour is not just a food tour; it is also a city tour. Take a look at what we cover on this tour: Ljubljana is very walkable and mostly flat city so you can enjoy the tour as your local guide illuminates the sights with insightful history and commentary throughout the tour. Admire colourful buildings on Secession street while you walk towards the place where all locals meet; Preseren square is one of the city’s most important landmarks, named after Slovenia’s national poet France Preseren. Learn about Preseren’s interesting life and unheard love in the times when Europe was approaching great changes. Cross the famous Triple Bridge, created by famed architect Jože Plečnik, a great European architect and a local of Ljubljana. Continue to the Central market where bustling stalls offer local produce and colourful flowers. Stop in front of Cathedral of St Nicholas where your local guide will tell you more about the role of religion and the Church as an institution in the country. Pass baroque Robba’s fountain and enter City hall that is sitting at the same place for more than 500 years. Continue in medieval spirit by listening tales from your guide who will make past times come alive in the old streets of Ljubljana. Stroll through cobbled streets, full of restaurants and cafes and feel the vibe of the city. See Ljubljana’s most representative square – Congress square and learn about its interesting history and many important buildings around it; University of Ljubljana, Philharmonic Academy and more. Complete the tour with a dessert and enjoy good coffee or tea. Get ready for a great experience – come join us!
